What's 39C?

Writing 39C is the second writing course of two that are part of UC Irvine's Lower Division Writing requirement. 39C and its preceding course involve identifying and developing rhetorical strategies in various genres and media. The goal of the course is to not only understand how to conduct research and apply evidence found in them to composition but also utilize multi-modal elements to communicate effectively in digital rhetoric. Major writing projects include: Blogs, Literature Review, Advocacy Project, and a Social Media Campaign The theme of this course's section is
ANIMAL SCIENCE

Over the course of this quarter, we investigate the relationship between humans and animals and consider the social sciences within them.

Research Interest:
Killer Whale (Orcinus orca)

Killer whales (also referred to as orcas), contrary to their name, are actually the largest member of the oceanic dolphin families. In oceans, they hunt and forage in pods typically run by a matrilineal system. These powerful predators have a lifespan between 50-80 years and have a diverse carnivorous diet ranging from seals to even other whales.
